Video testimonials from our happy patients
I have been in the health and wellness industry myself—I have been in the health and wellness industry my whole life. I retired from GNC the vitamin chain, I was president of the company, I am all about pursuing healthy lifestyle. Being that I am 61 years old, I had a lot of mercury in my mouth, and so when we do a lot of reading and studying about mercury and how it leeches into your body and blood stream, and can cause you know different autoimmune issues, heart disease, so and so forth as results. So, when I went and had my initial meeting with Dr. Carlson, we were very aligned on our analogy of health and as to what we really need to do to get ourselves in maximum condition. So we started the process and you know I had all the mercury removed I have a beautiful smile and I have no mercury in my mouth, no amalgam in my mouth there is nothing black or silver in and as a matter of fact, she also removed a tooth that I had a root canal done in, and she showed me that the bottom of this root canal which is the dead tooth that there was bacteria and that called also cause autoimmune issues. So, everything that she does coincides with how I believe in taking care of yourselves with nutritional has not and whatever you can do. A lot of people have heart disease as a result of not taking care of their teeth. And if you have a tooth infection or bacteria and gum disease it is a direct correlation to your heart and as a health advocate you better take care of your teeth. She has an absolutely beautiful office, her people are amazing, the customer service is amazing, they are just really a nice group of people, but they take their time and they do it methodically and they do things right. I like the fact that they use the ozone gas to ensure that there is no bacteria in anything that they do with your teeth and I highly recommend them and I would not go anyplace else.
What was your experience like at Natural and Cosmetic Dentistry?
Carla – my story actually starts on a Saturday night with a movie and popcorn my goodness if you have ever bitten into an un-popped cornel you know exactly what I am talking about. It was a Saturday night I had to do something pacify it till the next day and I did. The next morning my pain was very much subsided I was able to then not rapidly schedule an appointment with my then dentist. I was able to take some time. I scheduled and appointment and it really gave me an opportunity to research the possible outcomes maybe some things that the doctor suggest I could do some procedures, and I really wanted to be well informed. On the day of my appointment the dentist said that I needed a root canal and I said you know let me explore some other options and some alternatives and the dentist said no you need a root canal. I said I don’t want a root canal I understand that leaving that nerve there could potentially cause illness – it is a potentially dead nerve i really don’t want to go through that procedure so can we please discuss some alternatives, and the response was borderline sarcasm ridicule. I needless to say did not go forward with anything and I started my quest to look for a holistic dentist and I actually found a feed from one of my friends from social media who had posted about a holistic dentist and it was natural dentistry! I almost jumped through the screen I called her right away I asked her about her experience it was absolutely amazing and I called natural dentistry – so welcoming the voice was when I called. It was completely different, something that I had not expired. During that call I was wanting to make sure they were going to be open to talking about options and alternatives and they were so open to that, not only were they open to that but they offered education and helped me understand that advocating for myself was the greatest thing I could have done and that was amazing. We scheduled the appointment and I do want to see this – they are 2 hours away from me, and that appointment that they scheduled was very robust. It was intended to really satisfy the amount of time that it took for me to drive out there and they did work on me that day and I was really happy about that and they took that into consideration that it was not just and appointment – that I would have an x-ray done and then comeback and it was really a very important detail robust appointment and that was really great on their end. My experience with them goodness – right from the get go you know from that first call for example they directed me to their website where they actually have videos and information in education so here I am trying to prep for my other dentist appointment right – for possible outcomes and then here is this dentist actually providing me with those tools! That is on their website already. So that was great we talked a little bit about the options of my tooth as well as maybe changing out my amalgam so those grey filings that we have in our mouth and lot of information was given to me on that and that first appoint that I had there – was a few hours long because we did some work and we developed a treatment plan and it was just a great start of our relationship with them, so one of the appointments ended up actually being an extraction for that famous popcorn tooth. Wow I have to say that I had a tooth puled in the past and that experience was nothing compared to the experience of natural dentistry. What happened is that my tooth was actually – had to be pulled out in pieces. It was not just a clean extraction it was in pieces and before they were done they took an x-ray of my mouth. I could not believe it – I said why are you taking an x-ray? And they said well you know in general dentistry you are allowed or they are allowed to leave a piece or a fragment of your broken tooth inside your mouth. I was floored! In the x-ray there was a lite tiny bit of tooth left in my mouth, they took that to the chair and they pulled it out took another x-ray to make sure it was completely extracted – that there was nothing left and they took everything out! I mean it was amazing there was nothing there and I felt so good and of course I am appalled that people are walking around with possibly little bits of tooth in their mouths but it was really eye opening. That they take that extra step to ensure that they do a great job for you, that this is to just a lets pull a tooth and run to the next patient. This is whole person care right, this is taking care of us as a patient, not just for today but looking in the future of any potential something that may happen if they don’t do a great job today so it was really awesome.so I did another procedure they actually drew blood, I accepted to do this procedure, so they took blood and they coagulated it. What happened is that the little strips of blood they packed it into my mouth to assist in the healing process. That made it so that I would not have any tri socket ad that my heeling would be a healthy healing and just a healthier way – knowing that my own body was facilitating and helping me heal so it was really fantastic I had never experienced that and it was just nice dot know that they really go out of their way to offer alternatives and better things for you than just having the tooth done and walked out for the next patient. It was really extra care really great care. How the mouth is related to your body and how you mouth affect your health was really an outstanding educational piece. One of the things I wanted to talk to them about was the removing of the amalgam in their mouth and that was the grey fillings that we had in there the amalgam actually releases fumes in your mouth when you are drinking something or drinking something cold and I didn’t know that so what potentially can happened over time in your body by having the amalgam in your mouth could be anything really so they have a list of health conditions that might be impacted and it was really neat to see how that worked. So it was really important to me to have the amalgams removed from my mouth. That procedure in itself was amazing I mean they should do a documentary because it was so amazing what they did so they protected me during the process and how they did that was that they provided me with oxygen they covered my eyes, they covered me they also protected themselves. I mean think about this – this is just removing that grey filling in your mouth and they are taking such precautions to ensure that during this process I am safe and they themselves are safe. They protected themselves by wearing screens and ensuring also that when the amalgam was removed that it was disposed of not only in a very protective way to not contaminate our water systems but also to ensure that it was done the correct wee and not just thrown in the garbage or down the drain. I feel so good that I have replaced. I had 2! I replaced both of them and I am so happy and I just feel that I did that for my health not just now but my health 20 years from now 10 year from now 20 years from now 30 years from now so this was an important step for m and my health journey to take care of myself. I absolutely think that natural dentistry is the place to go from anybody who wants to explore new options within dentistry to experience a different type of care you know we tend to refer to what we know to be as traditional so right maybe traditional dentistry for most people is their typical dentistry experience. I feel that going to a holistic dentist should be the traditional way. Going to a holistic dentist shod be the only way that we receive treatment in our mouths and our whole bodies right. So it is not just about enough it is whole person care and natural dentistry does that, they really take the time to ensure that the patient understands what they are doing and how their mouth affects their entire body and thy ear looking out for everything. So they shod be the tradition they should be the only way to go they should be the standard across the board and they should have offices, hear me – they should have offices everywhere like throughout the entire sates of Florida. I mentioned that they are 2 hours away and I heard that people go from all over where they are actually booking hotels and saying because they are so good I mean think about that if they are so well versed in everything that they do that people are travelling from all over to take care from them, so kudos to them continue I am there – I am driving those 2 hours. It was my absolute pleasure to share my experience. So continued success to everybody there you all do a great job.
Julian: What brought me… to… Natural and Cosmetic Dentistry was… the staff. Everyone you make eye contact with pretty much addressing you and saying hi. Especially while wearing their mask cannot really get the facial expressions like normal with humans. So, they are just all over it. Hey Hey, how’s it going? Some even just like Hey Julien how you been? So, you are just like oh it feels very comfortable and at home like you know what you are here for and they know what you are here for.
Couple of cleanings done, pretty standard stuff at the office. They are not jamming and hurting your mouth and you want to go out feeling like you got a clean fresh pearly white set of teeth and then also you want to be able just kind of feel comfortable and not like in pain.
I’m definitely favorable for the holistic side of things uh just because I am not too aware of all of the other drugs or prescriptions or things that are occurring so I don’t want to throw all these random things in my body and not know what kind of effect is going to be created.
So first experience walking into the new facility, I was like this place looks great. This is just like very aesthetic. Like a beachy nice feel, comfortable yet modern. So definitely, you definitely feel like in a futuristic dentistry office.
First experience I had was a cleaning and then we went to you know checking out the mouth because it’s been a while since I have been to the dentist of course. Got to find one you like and that you trust so… I found Beata and then we uh checked it out and I needed like uh… it wasn’t a feeling I can’t even remember what it was but it was like a deep cleaning like whole process that Beata had to get in the mouth uh with a team and you know it was actually really smooth because with the previous dentist last time your mouth is sore and uncomfortable you don’t feel like.. you know when your mouth is in pain or hurt you don’t want to do anything like you have headaches your jaw starts giving you weird issues because you not moving it normal. You know and that can kind of reciprocate to the rest of the body and uh I definitely didn’t like that. That I was out for like a day or two or at least not at 100%. With Dr. Carlson, I only had one two sensations for an hour rather than days.
I have definitely had patients in our physical therapy practice referred over to Beata’s office, uh to get their Jaw and X-Rays of their mouth taken because they have all these other body issues that are occurring where you find that it’s coming from the Jaw or teeth or something headache-related and it’s causing all these other issues.
I actually love a lot of things about the practice uh just the cleanliness the warm feeling you get from the staff in the front desk when you arrive… uh but also more importantly the level of care you get for your teeth
Joceline: It was just what I was looking for. I am a cancer survivor so I am really particular about what I put into my body and… I have been to several other dentists that said they were holistic but I didn’t find that… to be… the case. I like the fact that the approach that is taken looks at… looks you know looks at my entire body to figure out what’s going on.
In the past, the doctor has referred me to acu… to see an acupuncture she’s recommending me essential oils, which is something that will never ever happen at any other dentist. So I I like going there because she is very knowledgeable it’s strictly holistic it takes a whole-body approach and it it it makes me feel like I am really taking care of my health when I go there. I am not just going to the dentist to get something done with my teeth. And the staff was very friendly and courteous and they are always making me feel welcome. Not like I am um annoying somehow which I felt at other places that I’ve gone to. She told me about this um new ozone ointment that I can use in my tooth sensitivity and I started using it and within, within less than a week I started noticing a difference so I was really excited about that.
My commute is an hour. I live in Brandon and this is in Clearwater so that should tell you something right there I don’t know how i i probably passed 200 dentists before my way to that office and it’s because it’s worth it.
