Dr. Maydelin Martinez was born in Cuba. She came to this country as an adolescent with empty hands and many dreams to conquer. Dr. Martinez completed her undergraduate education at the University of Florida and graduated in 2008 with a Major in Food Science and Human Nutrition and a Minor in Business. She completed her dental education in May 2012 at New York University, College of Dentistry, and was selected for a Senior Elective Mini-Residency open to only 20 students with higher clinical standards. Dr.Martinez returned to Florida to attend the Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency Program at Bay Pines VA, St. Petersburg, Florida. – “Serving veterans was a life-changing opportunity, and I was determined to serve my patients with the same passion they served this country.”
She has had the privilege to be trained in many procedures such as Complex Extractions, Clinical Crown Lengthening, Removable and Fixed Prosthodontics, basic and cosmetic Restorative work, and placement and restoration of Dental Implants. She completed a fellowship with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and completed the core curriculum with the Dawson Academy.
Dr. Martinez has also dedicated time for community service and volunteers to help patients in need, both locally and abroad. She has volunteered her time treating patients at the Homeless Empowerment Program(HEP) and has traveled to Guatemala to treat patients without dental care. Her professional affiliations include the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, West Coast Florida Dental Association, Holistic Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
Dr.Martinez is committed to conservative, preventative dentistry and staying current in the latest technology promoting health and wellness. She loves spending her spare time with her husband and two children.
